SYED SADEK AHMED

Syed Sadek Ahmed has been actively involved in the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) and Textile industry since 1997. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resource Management (HRM).

Leadership Roles
Mr. Ahmed serves as the Chairman and CEO of the following companies:
• Sfanhan Inc.
• Brilliance Sweater Limited
• Space Sweater Limited
• Britex Limited
• Britex Technology Limited

He is also a Sponsor Director and Vice Chairman of Zaastex Group, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, which was established in 2000.

Additionally, he is a Shareholder Director of Niamah Food and Beverages Industries Limited, which operates the retail food and coffee brand Grain. Currently, Grain has eight outlets in Dhaka and is on track to expand to 20 outlets by 2025.

In 2010, he founded Britex Sportswear Limited, a specialized sportswear manufacturing company, which he successfully sold to the Neptune Group in 2018.

Contributions to BGMEA
Mr. Ahmed has held prominent roles in the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), including:
• Serving as an elected Director for two consecutive terms (2013–2019).
• Acting as Co-Chairman of various standing committees (2005–2009).
• Chairing the Standing Committee on Arbitration (2009–2013), where his fair and effective arbitration
practices earned widespread praise.

From 2013 to 2017, he served as the Director In-Charge for New Market Exploration for South Africa and Australia. Under his leadership, Bangladesh’s RMG exports to these regions grew significantly, reaching approximately $2 billion annually.

Key Initiatives
• Standard Group Fire Investigation (2013): Mr. Ahmed was a key member of the investigation committee, led by a High Court Judge and appointed by the Government of Bangladesh. Despite significant challenges, the committee completed its investigation successfully, enabling Standard Group to secure substantial compensation from insurance companies and government support.

• Post-Rana Plaza Recovery Efforts: Following the Rana Plaza tragedy, Mr. Ahmed led the Image Building Committee (2014–2016) as Director In-Charge. He organized numerous international seminars and conferences, with support from the Government of Bangladesh and foreign missions, to restore buyer confidence in the RMG sector. These efforts were instrumental in the industry’s recovery, with Bangladesh’s RMG exports growing from $13 billion in 2012 to over $47 billion globally.

four childrens.
