MASUD MALLICK
• His wife Mahfuza and their children – sons Zunain and Mansef, and daughter Oorusa – moved to Winnipeg from their native Bangladesh as Investor Immigrants back in 2018 under the Provincial Business Immigration program. In those short four years, Masud is now operating his own business, Nirapod Logistics Limited which has become the exclusive delivery service partner for Amazon in Manitoba.
• Mahfuza meanwhile, has completed her master’s degree and has spent the past several years at home raising the family.
• Masud studied at the University of Dhaka and he graduated with a master’s degree. Following graduation, he began his professional career in customer service with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. “After one year, I moved to a telecommunication company named Grameenphone and gradually moved into the role of head of sales, head of supply chain and head of International Roaming function” he states. “I stayed there for 14 years and then worked as head of Supply Chain and Procurement in bKash. I have also worked as Director, Operations in Samsung- FDL in Bangladesh.”
• Upon arriving in Winnipeg in 2018, Masud got to work in starting up and developing his own logistics company called Nirapod Logistics limited. The company currently employs over 150 staff and delivered more than 6 million packages to the doorsteps of the Amazon customers.
• Masud and Mahfuza have been married since November 2000. Masud and Mahfuza have three children. Oldest son Zunain – now 22 years old. Currently Zunain is pursuing his final year undergraduate degree in finance and economics at the University of Toronto’s Rotman Business School. Daughter Oorusa – 16 years of age – going to grade 10 on Mexwell Power High School and has been active in many activities in school. Youngest son Mansef – 9 years old – is “super talented,” says Masud and is very active in the cyber area. He is in Grade 4 this year at Norman G. Power school.
• The Mallick’s have three pets: two cats named Leo and Puchhi and a dog named Jasper.
• “We are a practicing Muslim family, and we love to pray both at home and in our mosque,” says Masud. “Apart from my professional career, I was actively involved in Rotary club activities and events back in my home country. I was vice-president of my Rotary club.
• “I was selected as a member of the World Group Study Exchange popularly known as GSE program for six weeks from Bangladesh to Florida as goodwill ambassador and learned many interesting vocational and community affairs during this program,” he adds. “I was also involved in the International the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the world’s largest humanitarian network and organized many social and community development programs for the welfare of the community.”
• The family enjoys travelling and Masud himself has already travelled to more than 41 countries and over 200 cities around the world on professional and personal capacities. “I like spending time on natural beaches and Bangkok is my most favorite holiday destination.
• This approach to life is exemplified in their ‘family motto’: “Be respectful, cooperate with each other and extend support to neighbours when needed.”
